Purchase Manager

Objectives

Well-functioning purchasing team; timely and flawless execution of short- and long-term tasks
Correctly purchased and intime stocked defect free materials and parts

Main Responsibilities

  •  manage clear and effective split of responsibility at the purchasing team
  •  set up and regularly evaluate short-term targets and long-term goals of the team members based on company strategy and goals
  •  ensure systematic and effective process with information system, automate purchasing process and minimize non-added-value administrative (internally, externally)
  •  hold regular meetings with suppliers to establish and improve long term, trusting relationships
  •  monitor suppliers lead times and identify bottleneck and/or areas for improvements
  •  establish open lines of communication with internal departments
  •  support purchasers with new supplier sourcing initiatiaves & ideas
  •  support personal growing of all team-members
  •  manage all aspects of supplier performance, including quality, cost operations, service, and technology
  •  create and revise purchase policies and procedures with suppliers
  •  manage contracts and agreements , and organize & maintain a database of all company suppliers
  •  establish and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize internal & external administrative processes & deliver sustainable long term value
  •  project management: cost analysis, price negotiation, recommendations, identify opportunities for cost saving, establish preferred suppliers, contracts, KPIʼs & co-ordinate supplier assessments
  • project management: sourcing & transition to new suppliers

Skills

  •  positive mind set
  •  at least 5 years experience in costing & purchase
  •  management experience – at least with small team
  •  strong numerical and analytical skills
  •  highly proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.)
  •  experience with some of ERP systems (Helios, SAP, Karat, Max, MS-Nav, or similar)
  •  consistent, adaptable to change, with highly effective problem – solving skills
  •  excellent verbal, written & communications skills in English
  •  highly motivated & organized with good time management skills. Strong ability to plan and forecast
  •  able to work independently managing day to day functions
